Bad news. With Russia and China on one side and the rest of us on the other with respect to Syria, and with inevitable cynicism accompanying the realization that by some miracle Egypt and Libya (or Iraq and Afghanistan) will automatically turn into functioning democracies overnight, I am beginning to see the world slipping into the same nightmare that led someone to say "the lights are going out all over Europe" shortly before World War One. One thing is certain, there will never be another because there will be noone left to fight it.

Poorly wrotten article. There is no mention of Libyan rebels or mercenaries in Homs. The real story on Homs is getting out and soon the story will be all oer the globe. GCC money paid for the mercenaries, the libyans and the transfer of weapons from Libya to Syria. Time is running out for the Syrian opposition. The GCC tyrants are on borrowed time. A real arab spring is coming.
