If a woman chooses to want extravagant weddings and huge dowries from her groom and future life partner and as a result remains unmarried or marries late in life, why blame the cost of weddings and dowries when its crystal clear who is to blame! Do wedding costs and dowries ‘have’ to be that high? Does Islam not preach modesty in every aspect of one's life including weddings too?

I don't see how anybody could "force" their opinion on the UAE government, especially not when they were very politely and deferentially using the social networks to voice their views. What medium is okay to voice one's opinion in the UAE?
