Flipping is the fuel of bubbles & crashes... isn't it time it became illegal ?!? In many countries, you have to hold the property until the keys are handed over & its fully paid up... only then can you re-sell it.

The problem with Abudhabi housing is that most jobs are in the government sector. A govt employee (national or expat) cannot use his allowance to buy a property and then use his housing allowance to rent it from himself. It can only be done by a private sector employee who gets his housing allowance in cash . Until this rule changes, dont expect to see many properties sold . Another issue is that , cooling and maintenance fees for apartments run around 15-40 dirhams per square feet, while it is 3-10 dirhams for villas. Hence you see more families purchasing villas with pools and not apartments. Good luck- Sorouh
