Lianne pointed some important things. This place is missing media experts. All the TV stations are in competition about the few people who understood how to produce, film, edit and how to be a Journalist. We need urgently a Media School to train Cameramen, Lightmen, Soundmen, Video Editors Journalists, Reporters etc. But since 4 1/2 years I am here and nothing happens.
1.) Millons of dollars have been given to the Government Media Information Center (GMIC) - if my infomations are correct to train those people
2.) German Embassy is obviously giving the Mediothek also 1 Mio EUR per year (so the rumors) to train young people.
In all my years here I have not seen anybody graduating from there. If there would be people I would immediately hire them. All TV stations are in need, but nobody listens. Money is waisted the way Lianne pointed out.
Media is the fourth power of a country. How does the interntational community expects that something is moving forward if poeple are not properly trained? Hopefully one day my dream is becoming true. A independent Media School where expats are training the future media experts. And after graduation I can guarantee that every single graduate will find a good paid job here. Afghanistan has around 70 stations and they are in a big need.
