I think I understand the 'system' here of the blood money......and its process (and attempt at fairness); but from this daughter's perspective - I can empathize with her attempt at having her mother's killer die for his actions; regardless if it were pre-meditated or not......the end result is that he lost control, and killed his wife! END POINT. He has changed the 'whole' lives of 2 families, his own and his wife's family. I think the overall attitude towards women enables such violence towards them, the system in this region enabling men to believe that their lives are more valuable than a woman's life. No woman picks up a knife against her husband, unless she has been subjugated to unspeakable violence at the hand of that said husband and no man KILLS a wife he professes to love and honor. It would never get to that point of where he would have been enabled to kill her; if he had respect for her. Now the responsibility of his fate lies with a daughter that must make a stance and afford her family some sort of justice within a system of injustice. SAD. MAY SHE GO IN PEACE, and find the emotional retribution she seeks satisfying.
