Thank you Hala for bring this point to the media. I hope that more persons spread this news. As a father who walks and play with my son regularly in the nearby parks what you is correct. Last week I heard a 6 or 7 year old told another 7 year old, "she is only the maid, you don't have to listen to her," when the second boy was called home. It is time that parents (male and female) start spending more time with their kids. Enforced minimum standards in the employment of maids would help. Parenting classes for parents would also help. History classes would also help in that kids would know that most households pre-1970’s did not have help. It is a rare sight to see an Arab father playing in the park with his kids. Give nannies the evening off and let the parents take over. Hope you set an example by breaking this cycle with your interactions with your kids and maid. M Carr, Abu Dhabi
