Your piece left a worse taste in my mouth than an actual mouse would have. That you would devote so much of it to ridiculing a poor waiter who was simply trying to make your stay enjoyable reveals a lot more about your character than the establishment you are critiquing. Hotels have their limitations and are not always able to accommodate all guest requests. Such things happen at even the finest hotels. When they do happen, good hotels offer concessions to their guests, just like they did in your unfortunate case. But I do concede that they made a mistake. They were mistaken to offer you any concessions.

This is an outrageous piece. I was stunned by the audacity of the writer who displayed unmistakable prejudice and racism. Making fun of the accent of the waiter is not acceptable. You certainly did not appreciate their gesture of good will and misinterpreted it. I have been to the UK several times and stayed at five star hotels. Mistakes were made and charges were issued for the mini-bar which I did not use. I can go on and on. Time to rise above your petty prejudices and make the most out of your stay. Time to grow.
