When the library in Timbuktu was torched, it was the worst atrocity committed against historical learning, since the Germans torched the library at the University of Leuven in Belgium in 1914.

It is a wonder where Egypt is today, no not at all. How they ended up with a choice between a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and a former Mubarak supporter is their own fault and a mystery to me because it was not what the people in Tahriri Square wanted. So they elected Morsi and got what they voted for. Now The Muslim Brotherhood who laid during the early days of the revolution hijacked it and they are running the country. The true revolutionaries have lost control and will not get it back. The Brotherhood wrote the constitution and soon the opposition will be harassed and arrested on trumped up charges like fraud or non payment of taxes. There is no such thing as a benevolent or well meaning dictator and it gets worse when religion is mixed in. Frank Burkhardt Baltimore Md USA
