The UAE is not the only multi-cultural society on the planet. Therefore, I don't accept the fact that there are 200 nationalities living in the UAE as means to justify breaking the laws of the country that they're in. Furthermore, Theyab Awana was never an expatriate. He was local. Therefore, I don't see the connection of the 200 nationalities if police speculate the accident was due to him texting on his Blackberry. Emiratis are so proud to be Emiratis, but let's consider how some of them have been demonstrating that pride. By showing off their fast cars? By showing off their "multi-tasking skills" of texting while driving? Is that UAE pride? What about respect for the laws in their own country? Where is the national pride of blowing off speed limit regulations? Where is the national pride of not wearing a safety belt and / or holding a child while driving? I don't think there is any national pride to vehicular suicide / homicide.
