The Irish rockers The Script and the Aussie hip-hop star Iggy Azalea are headlining next year’s RedfestDXB.

Both will make their way to the UAE for the second edition of the two-day pop music festival to be held at the Dubai Media City Amphitheater on February 12 and 13.

The Script will headline on Thursday (February 12), while Azalea will close the festivities the following night.

Both acts come to Dubai with considerable momentum. The Script – who sold more than 20 million albums – have just released their fourth album No Sound Without Silence featuring their latest single Superheroes.

Azalea is presently one of the hottest names in pop with last year's debut album, The New Classic, home to the chart topper Fancy in addition to her latest hit Black Widow, featuring the previous year's inaugural RedfestDXB performer Rita Ora.

Both The Script and Azalea join the already announced up-and-coming Canadian singer and songwriter Kiesza, who has been making waves with her house-music inspired hit Hideaway. With her debut album Sound of a Woman released next month, Dubai fans should be well acquainted with her tunes by the time she hits the stage on February 12.

Thomas Oveson, the chief operating officer of the festival promoters Done Events, says both The Script and Azalea are seasoned performers and are set to deliver to UAE fans.

“Live in concert, The Script is now a true stadium and festival headline act. Their 11-month world tour saw the trio playing sold-out shows throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, so we can’t wait to see them perform at RedFestDXB 2015,” he said.

“Iggy Azalea was a no brainer, though. She is simply the hottest and most talked about artist in the world right now and what a treat it is to confirm she will join what will be a long list of fantastic international and regional artists.”

Another batch of acts for both nights are set to be announced in the next few months.
