Timbaland promises fans who attend his performance tomorrow at the Dubai World Trade Centre “a big party”.
The popular beat-maker’s comments came during a press conference today at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray hotel with legendary pop producer Quincy and will.i.am.
“Whenever I play in this part of the world I have so much fun, I lose track of time,” he said.
“Also with me and will.i.am together in one night people should expect the unexpected. You never know what could happen.”
Timbaland praised the music from the Middle East, describing it “are the best sounds ever”.
“The rhythms are on a scale of its own,” he explained.
“To me the Middle Eastern sound are cups, bottles, rakes, water and everything that is around you and you make the best rhythms from that. People here are so accepting of that and I am so happy to be part of that.”
Will.i.am expressed gratitude to be part of the inaugural Dubai Music Week, which is running until Sunday.
“This is my second time here in Dubai,” he said. “The first time I came here was in 2006 with the Black Eyed Peas and the city was not that developed and now it is amazing.
“To be back here as part of Dubai Music Week, an event that invites the world, is a really wonderful thing.”
Jones is a frequent visitor to the region.
“I have been here to the UAE, including Abu Dhabi, many times,” he says. “I am addicted to languages and culture and this part of the world is amazing. That’s because the culture here is based on languages, music and food.”
The pop group The Black Eyed Peas will return to the UAE, said will.i.am. The band leader, currently riding high on the charts with the solo hit Scream and Shout, made the promise today as part of Dubai Music Week. “ I know I am here already but I can’t wait to return,” he said. “Next time I will come back with my group The a Black Eyed Peas... I love it here.”
