Robert Plant has told his former bandmate, the Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, to “have a good rest.”

The legendary frontman made the comment today in a press conference in Morocco’s Mawazine Festival, where he is due to perform tomorrow with his band The Sensational Space Shifters.

Asked to respond to Page's recent comments in the New York Times about being "fed up" with Plant's constant refusal to re-form Led Zeppelin, the singer said he and Page just have different opinions on the matter.

“I think he needs to go to sleep and have a good rest, and think again,” he said. “We have a great history together and like all brothers we have these moments where we don’t speak on the same page but that’s life.”

The question of whether Led Zeppelin would get back together (after their successful London reunion shows in 2007) has been dominating recent interviews with all former band members due to Page’s remastered releases of Led Zeppelin entire catalogue in nine studio albums. The first set of three is out next week.

It was on May 15 that Page told the Times that it was Plant's refusal to rejoin that quashed any chances for the band to perform again.

“I was told last year that Robert Plant said he is doing nothing in 2014, and what do the other two guys think? Well he knows what the other guys think. Everyone would love to play more concerts for the band. He’s just playing games, and I’m fed up with it, to be honest with you.”

Plant said he is content working on his new solo album, which is to be released later in the year.

“The new music that I am making is a melange of my travels through the more beautiful places and with the most beautiful people of the music world,” he said. “When you put all of this together you get a very happy and very stimulating combination.”
