The Latin pop star Enrique Iglesias is set to perform at the Dubai World Trade Centre on October 26, as part of his continuing world tour.
The news quells the disappointment of Iglesias not joining Jennifer Lopez when the latter announced her first UAE concert, happening on November 22 at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre. The duo have been touring together throughout the year. Having already wrapped up South America and Canada, they are currently making their way through North America.
Iglesias, who has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, can of course hold his own on stage. He is touring on the back of his successful ninth album Euphoria, with songs sung in both Spanish and English and featuring various artists including Akon, Usher and Juan Luis Guerra.
The latest tour is also a welcome return to the stage for the 37-year-old star who has been developing his acting chops of late; he has made cameo appearances in the sitcoms Two and Half Men and How I Met Your Mother.
But will the tour also become a family reunion? In an interview in May, Iglesias's father, Julio, let slip word of a possible Dubai performance towards the end of the year. A father and son tour? That would be something to see.
Details of the concert, including timings and ticket prices, will be announced in the coming weeks. Visit www.enriquedubai.com.
