Having taken a sabbatical after her wedding in November 2011, the actress Kanchi Kaul is looking forward to getting back on set. Kaul, who is married to the Indian television star Shabir Ahluwalia, will soon start filming a new movie titled Meri Bhabhi. “I couldn’t be happier – I love my profession,” Kaul said. “As actors, we have very busy lives, so Shabir and I decided to travel extensively post-marriage. This helped us to get to know each other much better and now I am ready to make a comeback.” – IANS
The director Satish Kaushik has expressed his gratitude to the cast of his latest film, which is being shot in searing heat in Gujarat, a western Indian state. Kaushik posted on Twitter: “Thanks to my ensemble cast and crew for bearing high temperatures and sharing my passion for shooting Gang of Ghosts.” The movie is a Hindi remake of last year’s Bengali horror-comedy blockbuster Bhooter Bhabishyat, to which the producer Ratan Jain bought the rights. The new film stars Mahie Gill, Sharman Joshi, Chunky Pandey and Anupam Kher. It also marks the Bollywood debut of the southern Indian actress Meera Chopra. – IANS
Sivakumar is ready for Singam 3
The southern Indian actor Suriya, who is waiting for the release of his action-drama Singam 2 later this month, has already turned his thoughts to starring in Singam 3. “I would love to do a third Singam movie,” he said. “But only if my director has the patience and time to work on it. The excitement with which we have done this film has given me the confidence to return if there is a third instalment in the works.” Sibakumar, 37, added: “We spent nearly eight months on this project and, therefore, time is of utmost importance if we want to collaborate for the third part. Hari [the director] is already committed to his next project, and so am I. Again, If time permits, we may return soon.” – IANS
