The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia
Director: Tom Elkins
Abigail Spencer, Emily Alyn Lind, Chad Michael Murray
Stop me if you have heard this one before: a husband (Murray) and wife (Spencer), and their young daughter (Lind), swap their home in Atlanta for a cheaper, secluded forest dwelling. Bargains are not always what theyíre cracked up to be, though, and the house has a dreadful past. It once served as a stop-off for runaway slaves on the Underground Railroad. But not everyone received the kind of help they were expecting, and it isnít long before the new occupants have unwelcome visitors. The filmís historical backdrop is interesting, while the first-time director Elkins creates a few genuinely creepy moments, and little Lind does terror to perfection. There arenít many surprises, but this in-name-only sequel is nonetheless solid, entertaining hokum.
