Amitabh Bachchan says he feels jealous whenever he watches quality films such as the recent Raanjhanaa, directed by Aanand Rai and starring Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush, the southern Indian star who makes his Bollywood debut with the film. Bachchan, 70, wrote on his blog: “I get envious after seeing all these wonderful films, and regret that I am not in them, even in a small capacity, for I love the immense talent and finesse that today’s cinema with its young brigade brings to the world.” Bachchan will next be seen in Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha, scheduled to release in August. Honey Singh roped in by Shah Rukh Khan for film
Shah Rukh Khan tapped the Indian rapper Honey Singh to compose a special number for his new film Chennai Express,scheduled to release in on August 8. “I was very surprised and happy to hear from Shah Rukh bhai [brother]. I wrote and composed the song while I was in Mauritius,” the 29-year-old musician told the Daily Bhaskar. The composer duo Vishal and Shekhar, who composed the rest of the songs in the film, are rumoured to have disapproved of Singh’s sudden inclusion. Singh said: “What can I do? Shah Rukh bhai asked me to do a song – I couldn’t refuse. I am just doing my job to the best of my abilities.” – IANS
