On Tuesday, Reynolds revealed the film would be released on Netflix on Friday, December 13. Directed by Michael Bay, 6 Underground is Netflix's most expensive film yet, with a reported budget of around $125 million (Dh460 million).

From the makers of the Deadpool franchise, the film also stars Dave Franco, Melanie Laurent, Corey Hawkins, Adria Arjona, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Ben Hardy, Payman Maadi and Lior Raz.

The plot is set to follow six billionaires who fake their own deaths to form a vigilante squad to take down notorious criminals.

Netflix and Skydance Media worked closely with Abu Dhabi's Twofour54, which provided full production services for the 30-day shoot across the UAE.

Maryam AlMheiri, Vice Chair of Twofour54, said she was delighted to see Abu Dhabi again feature prominently in a major international production.

"It was a pleasure to welcome Netflix back to our Emirate and to support such a smooth and seamless shoot,” she said.
