A Few Best Men: Tale of misfit Brits is a disappoinment

This adult comedy follows three misfit Brits (Marshall, Kevin Bishop, Tim Draxl) who travel to Australia for their friend David's (Samuel) wedding.

Things soon get out of hand and threaten to ruin the big day. A pale imitation of Wedding Crashers, the film mixes vague caricatures of British and Australian sensibilities, with the result being quite dull and, in moments, somewhat vulgar.

Promising performances from Marshall and Olivia Newton John (as the mother-in-law) fail to gloss over very poor and well-trodden plot devices (animal theft, unhinged bridesmaids), all of which contribute to a lazy, poorly executed comedy. A huge disappointment given the calibre of the director, Priscilla… helmer Elliot, who is clearly too far outside his comfort zone.
