An awareness campaign highlighting four of the most common cancers is being launched in the capital.
The drive, organised by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) and Health Authority-Abu Dhabi (Haad), is tackling breast, colorectal, lung and cervical cancer.
The “cancer wave” scheme aims to educate the community and healthcare prodivers about the importance of early screening and leading a healthy lifestyle.
It will begin with various initiatives during October, including a walkathon, fashion show and an open day, to mark Breast Cancer Awareness month.
“Cancer prevention and awareness is a social responsibility that every single individual in the society can help with,” said Dr Jalaa Taher, the section head of non-communicable diseases at Haad.
