Tiger Woods, the world No 1, has confirmed that he will be returning to Dubai to compete in the 2011 Omega Dubai Desert Classic, the promoters and organisers of the event have announced.
The tournament will be held at the Emirates Golf Club in January, but the exact dates of the competition have yet to be confirmed.
The American’s last Classic was back in 2008 and ended in a one stroke victory ahead of Germany’s Martin Kaymer. He also won the event in 2006.
Woods was due to defend his title in 2009, but reconstructive surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee forced him out.
