Two goals in the last five minutes spared Jose Mourinho’s blushes at Dynamo Kiev and reignited Inter Milan’s Champions League campaign on Wednesday.
Andrey Shevchenko had scored the only goal of the first half after 21 minutes and it looked like being enough for a shock victory.
Inter piled on the pressure in the second period and it finally paid off as the in-form Diego Milito equalised in the 86th minute and Wesley Sneijder won it one minute from time.
Inter had looked as if they would be anchored to the foot of the table, but as it is they are now top after leapfrogging Kiev, as well as defending champions Barcelona and Rubin Kazan, who played out a goalless draw.
Mourinho said: “When the team keep missing chances, it is easy to be disappointed. But we got better every minute, and after first goal we all felt that could win.”
